Born again: 1993
Family: Harvey (husband); Ethan, Nate, and Lydia (children).
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”
Katherine and Harvey have been members of TBC since 2007. In December of 2020, God showed Katherine the need for the children’s ministry at TBC. She felt Him calling her to teach AWANA on Sunday evenings.
Katherine grew up in eastern NC and accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 11 under the preaching of the same pastor that led her father to the Lord. Her father was an alcoholic and experienced salvation in his early 30s. His salvation led him to take Katherine and her brother to church faithfully every Sunday and place them in a Christian school. Through so many experiences of a broken home through divorce and her mom suffering with mental illness God has been so faithful and provided loving step-grandparents, grandparents and a special needs aunt to pray for her and point her to following Christ. As a teenager she made some poor choices and followed the “wrong crowd”, but she listened to the still small voice of God (at times that voice seemed very loud) and rededicated her life to Him in her early 20s. Katherine followed her husband’s wishes to move to Arlington, Texas, from North Carolina to attend school. After attending one service at TBC they found the members to be very warm and welcoming, and felt God had led them where they were to stay.
Katherine has been practicing as a Registered Nurse in the intensive care unit and other positions at a local hospital since 2007. Katherine is currently pursuing her Master of Education in nursing and plans to graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington in December of 2021.
Katherine and Harvey have been married since December 2005 (all glory and praise to God for their marriage). They strive to raise their children to do their best in all they are given to do whether it is schoolwork, playing musical instruments, or chores around the house. Ultimately, they teach their children to love God and serve others. Harvey also works as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in Dallas and serves in the church by working the sound booth.
